Nepenthes Distillatoria

Nepenthes distillatoriaNepenthes distillatoria - The native land of this plants are the jungles of South-east Asia and the north parts of Australia.

They belong to the sort Nepenthes – plants, which can reach height of 15 m. Some of the leaves develop in the shape of small bottles (30 sm. Long), which with the time are beeing filled with a special fluid, which eats away the preys of the plant.

 When the plant is enough maturely, the “lid” of the bottle opens and the trap for insects is ready. There are beeing caught flies, mosquitoes, wasps, bees and even rats and small birds.

 

Nepenthes distillatoria are growing on sunny places.
They are either male flowers, or female flowers and can’t pollinate themselves alone.
