Dendrobiums are among the most widespread orchids. They are epifit plants, which mean that in nature they grow on other plants. Due to their way of life, they have highly developed pseudo bulbs, where water is stored.
This is an excellent orchid for the beginner florist, due to the fact that a plant can blossom with a variety of wonderful white colors with crimson endings and dark red centre. There exist other varieties with yellow and pink colorations. The so called “noble” orchids come from the Southeast Asia and the Himalayans and grow on quite high altitude. Though they are easy to cultivate, some important rules must be observed, so that you can be pleased with the rich blossom each year. |
